There is one thing that I strive to achieve with my family posing ... and its CONNECTION, interrelated hands, heads tilted towards each other, legs entwined and bodies in harmony...
This all doesn't happen easily or naturally - sometimes it takes a discerning eye or a couple quick tweaks as I'm photographing... but THIS is EXACTLY what I'm trying to achieve for your families: a connection that translates through photography.
We all get uncomfortable when a camera is focused on us (well, those of us above the age of 25) - but once we know we want to capture; our family or ourselves "naturally" ... sometimes it takes a little coaxing and tweaking.
That's what I'm here for, as a trained professional photographer. We do this because we are trained to see this and trained to help create that connection.
Many photographers have certain "loves"... some are wedding photographers, others are architectural photographers, or model/actor headshot photographers. ME???? I LOVE MY FAMILIES... I want to create beautiful images of your family; connected and embracing each other while also capturing the real moments of laughter in between, that are just your moments.
"Capturing the moments that matter" is my tag line... but I mean it... families grow and evolve from these amazingly fun little people into young adults and I strive to show you how not only fleeting these moments are ... but to cherish them (those pumpkin smiles - with all those missing teeth, to that stuffed animal "lovie" toy they have developed an obsession for - it WILL NOT last forever... enjoy it and let it be in your family portrait - I PROMISE, you will cherish it someday!!!
Above photo ^ are my children and what I love about this particular portrait is that they naturally fell into it (maybe its not fair because they've had me as their mum "photographer" and have been coached to "connect" throughout the years --- but I LOVE THEIR CONNECTION and ease of being close to each other.
That shows to me .. that when I'm gone ... they will have each other & my work will have been done. They truly love each other.
WOW, that first blog post was not as hard as I thought it was going to be.
